Fiberglass Insulation consists of extremely fine glass fibers that slow the spread of heat, cold, and sound in your home. It is commonly used in two types of insulation: batts and rolls and loose-fill. Fiberglass can be placed in unfinished walls, floors, and ceilings. It is fitted between studs, joists, and beams. Fiberglass Insulation traps pockets of air, keeping rooms warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. Limiting the amount of air coming into and leaking from the home can work to make a home comfortable. It’s important to note that fiberglass limits air movement but doesn’t stop it completely.

Fiberglass insulation is also both moisture- and fire-resistant.

R-value measures the prevention of heat flow in and out of a structure. The higher the R-value, the better it is insulated.
